Saint Francis of Assisi is one of the most popular and beloved saints in the 2000 year history of the Church. This is for many reasons, he was a fascinating man, the founder of a huge religious order, a person who deeply cared for the poor, but most importantly, Saint Francis was a great lover of Jesus Christ.
He loved our Lord so deeply and fully, that he bore the wounds of Christ on his own flesh.
